Our Senior Services Program provides senior adults ages 60 and older a wide range of services that promote social/emotional well being, spiritual enrichment, and physical activity.
Seniors come to Wesley and enjoy nutritious meals daily that meet 1/3 of the required daily allowance. Nutrition tips are offered daily before lunch and nutrition education is offered monthly in partnership with Harris County Hospital District.
Physical Activity is offered once a week for one hour, and instructors from Brazilian Arts Foundation conduct structured physical activities that involve light stretching and gentle movements.
Health and Wellness Education sessions bring awareness to seniors on how to manage their own health issues. Health screenings for cholesterol and hypertension are conducted regularly, and flu shots are provided to the seniors during the flu session.
Spiritual Development and Enrichment allows seniors to grow spiritually through prayer and engaging in lectures for 30 minute to one hour sessions per week.
In addition to well being enrichment, case management for our seniors is available to help them in challenging circumstances to maintain their stability and independence. The Senior Advocate Coordinator helps program participants find and connect to resources and services as well as solve critical issues.
